Speaking with Committee Chair Texanna Reeves

This winter, Julie Monagle, Sr. Territory Mgr. General Mills Foodservice had the opportunity to chat with Texanna Reeves, VP of Corp. Diversity for Sodexo and the Chair of the Inclusion Advisory Group to gain insight on her experience as a volunteer with WFF. As Vice President of Corporate Diversity for Sodexo, Texanna is no stranger to the vital role that inclusion plays in the WFF's viability. She spoke passionately about the need for WFF to be an organization that is both diverse and inclusive of people of different ethnicities, genders, ages, functional roles, and areas of the foodservice industry. The Inclusion Advisory Group "strives to integrate the cultural principles (of WFF) into the inclusion filter". She has been working with the WFF for almost a decade in various ad-hoc and committee roles. Volunteering has positively impacted her experience within the WFF and at work. She found that volunteering "absolutely broadened my network" and brought her "the pleasure of meeting individuals I typically wouldn't have come into contact with". She also found that participation in the board nomination committee was a great opportunity to her from a professional development standpoint. Volunteering also provided her with a chance to showcase her talents, strengthen her abilities, and learn more about the foodservice industry as a whole.
