WFF Mentoring Success Story

Liz Meyers

Liz Meyers, Sr. Director, Client Services at Sysco Corporation, has found that her company's $400 investment in the WFF Mentor Program has been an exceptional value in achieving her professional objectives and in her personal development.  Liz meets with her mentor bi-weekly and finds that he brings not only a fresh perspective and clear assessment of her career path, but is also able to recommend strategies for addressing issues that we all face in the day to day management of our jobs.  Liz finds it extremely helpful to talk through ideas, challenges, and opportunities with someone who has no hidden agenda and only her best interest in mind.   Liz Meyers

Participation in the Mentor Program is a proven strategy to reward or recognize employees - it strengthens retention rates and encourages successful employee development.  A positive experience helps move employees forward by preparing them to successfully maneuver through the ever-changing business world.  In addition, mentoring can level the playing field for women, minorities and other groups.  The Mentor Program brings a tailored and focused approach commonly found in executive coaching programs, which generally cost anywhere from $75 to $200 per hour.  Liz has participated in such coaching sessions and finds the Mentor Program to be a cost effective alternative.  She believes that mentoring programs can provide great value to companies to meet challenges such as addressing diversity, developing leaders, and retaining high performers.
