WOMEN’S FOODSERVICE FORUM (WFF) HONORS OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AND ACHIEVEMENT IN FOODSERVICE
Minneapolis, MN (March 31, 2008) — Women’s Foodservice Forum (WFF)
is proud to announce the recipients of the 2008 WFF Trailblazer Award, WFF Leadership Award and WFF
Entrepreneur of the Year Award. These awards recognize individuals who have made a significant
impact on the Foodservice industry as a whole. Winners will be formally announced during the WFF
Annual Leadership Development Conference Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, April 15
th in Washington D.C.
“Each of these women are true role models for our industry,” said
Mary Bentley, WFF president. “These awards celebrate their success and we honor their contributions
and continued support of Elevating Women Leaders.”
WFF Trailblazer Award
Rosalyn “Roz” Mallet, President and Interim Chief Executive
Officer of Caribou Coffee
® will receive the 2008 WFF Trailblazer Award. Sponsored by General Mills, the
Trailblazer Award is a prestigious and high profile accolade for individuals dedicated to improving
the foodservice industry through their support of gender diversity, and creating and implementing
new pathways for women at all levels within their company and industry-at-large.
With more than 30 years of experience as a leader and visionary in
the Foodservice industry, Mallet’s rise to the top provides a great example of gender-diverse
leadership for both organizations and individuals.
WFF Leadership Award
(Formerly known as the WFF Emerging Leader Award)
Robin Robison, Chili’s Regional Director, Chili’s Grill and Bar
®, will be honored with this year’s WFF Leadership Award. The award, sponsored by
Ecolab
®, recognizes a women leader in the Foodservice industry who demonstrates exceptional
leadership qualities within her company and the industry-at-large, and whose professional growth
and achievements are recognized through career advancement.
Robison began her career with Chili’s as a server, and became the
company’s first Regional Training Director, where she has successfully implemented training
programs and workshops that have improved guest services and increased team member retention.
WFF Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Joy Wallace, President and CEO of J.O.Y. Foods
®, Inc. will be recognized as the 2008 WFF Entrepreneur of the Year. Sponsored by
Dunkin’ Brands
®, the award recognizes a woman business-owner who demonstrates exceptional leadership
qualities, within her company and the industry-at-large, and whose professional growth and business
achievements have contributed to the Foodservice industry.
Wallace founded J.O.Y. Foods in 1998 as the exclusive supplier of
the Pizza Hut
® Pizza Pack product line to the K-12 school Foodservice market and now, through her
leadership and business acumen, she has developed a line of proprietary, scratch-like pizzas and
opened a 24,000 square foot facility in Dallas to support the continuing growth of the
company.
