WOMEN’S FOODSERVICE FORUM, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SYSCO, ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR NEW SCHOLARSHIP - WFF SEWELL SCHOLARS AWARD
New scholarship gives $15,000 grant to a high-potential woman in foodservice
 
DALLAS (January 27, 2012)Women’s Foodservice Forum (WFF), in partnership with Sysco, are proud to announce they are accepting applications for the Annual WFF Sewell Scholars Award, a new scholarship honoring Phyllis Shapiro Sewell, a former Sysco board member and champion of women’s rights in the workplace. Each scholarship recipient will receive a $15,000 grant that allows her to attend WFF’s Annual Leadership Development Conference and Executive Summit, as well as campus sessions at the Kellogg School of Management.

"Phyllis Shapiro Sewell had an extraordinary business career and offers an outstanding example of what emerging executives can achieve," said Bill DeLaney, Sysco President and CEO. "Sysco is an ardent supporter of high-level, content-based leadership development. We believe that funding scholarships for motivated women to attend the WFF's Executive Leadership Program will have a profound impact on each recipient's career."

Aspiring female leaders from all disciplines within the foodservice industry who are enthusiastic about further developing their business and leadership skills are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be able to commit to completing the program certification within two years.


“We must never stop building our skills and abilities,” said WFF President and CEO Fritzi Woods. “We are so excited to be able to offer the WFF Sewell Scholars Award and know it will provide a challenging and fulfilling curriculum for a very deserving individual.”
