New Executive Track Announced

WOMEN’S FOODSERVICE FORUM (WFF)
ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE TRACK

New, Exclusive Programming for Executives Now Offered at
WFF Annual Leadership Development Conference

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (January 29, 2007) – The Women’s Foodservice Forum is proud to announce the launch of the new WFF Executive Track at this year’s WFF Annual Leadership Development Conference, April 15-18 in Orlando, Florida.  The WFF Executive Track is a series of exclusive events, workshops and sessions designed specifically to help executive-level women and men gain the most out of their conference experience.

“The WFF Executive Track is geared toward our growing number of corporate vice presidents, senior management, CEO’s and board members within the organization,” said Mary Bentley, WFF president. “These executives face very different challenges at their level. We developed this new programming to directly address these challenges and provide them with the development tools they need to further elevate their careers.”

The WFF has recruited an impressive list of renowned executives and distinguished professors to lead the Executive Track sessions including: Carly Fiorina, Victoria Medvec, Ph.D., Eileen Kamerick, Robert Howell, Ph.D., and Susan Stautberg. These presenters will deliver stimulating, substantive information and create peer-to-peer interaction at the senior-executive level.

The new programs slated to unveil at the WFF Executive Track include:

Board Readiness Workshops: Susan Stautberg, president of PartnerCom, a prominent company that assembles and manages advisory boards globally, will identify the key elements every board candidate needs for their personal marketing package. The session, Getting on the Radar Screen for Board Service, will offer specific strategies for customizing a bio and cultivating the all-important, two-minute elevator pitch.

During the new Sound Practices and Lurking Danger session, nationally recognized EVP, CFO and CAO of Heidrick & Struggles, public company board member and attorney, Eileen Kamerick, will give a hard hitting, bottom-line analysis of the board member’s legal rights and duties any perspective or current board member must know.

Additionally, as a part of the soon-to-be launched WFF Corporate Board Link service, WFF Board Consultant and seasoned board recruiter Deb Nelms will be conducting 30-minute personal interviews throughout conference.  She will help WFF members identify the right boards for their skills set and share ideas to expand those skills to reach the next level of board service.

Executive Lunch with Carol Evans: WFF vice president level members and higher are invited to join keynote speaker Carol Evans, President and CEO of Working Mother Media for lunch and networking.  Ms. Evans will share some of the best practices from companies who rank among the “Working Mother 100 Best Companies” and provide suggestions for successfully implementing those practices in the foodservice industry.

Financially Savvy Workshop: Capital Competencies: Understanding the Ratios, Key Performance Indicators and Metrics of a Sound Business Beyond the P&L is an exciting new workshop that will provide WFF executive members with hands-on case work and tools to help grow in financial effectiveness in a corporation. Led by Dr. Robert A. Howell, distinguished visiting professor of business administration, Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, this session combines hard skills building in financial management by deepening the understanding of the true health of a business.

Finally, during the Executive Forum event led by Victoria Medvec, Ph.D., Kellogg School of Management, WFF members will explore current concepts in effective negotiation.  As an exciting addition to this year’s workshop, keynote speaker Carly Fiorina will join the group to discuss how executives can effectively ask for what they need – without damaging the relationship on the other side.  Dr. Medvec will then lead a Q&A session with Carly Fiorina, which will explore first hand experiences on negotiating.  Ms. Forina will share her insight on successfully negotiating for oneself, the pitfalls of negotiation and how she has navigated through pivotal situations.

Existing executive level programming that will continue to be part of the WFF Executive Track includes the Executive Women’s Reception, Network with Leaders and the Diversity & Inclusion Panel.
