Julianna Simon
Brand Anthropologist, OLSON

Julianna Simon is Brand Anthropologist at Olson Communications in Minneapolis focusing on how change impacts culture and the ways that communities react to new ideas. Julianna has been responsible for branding efforts in three unique cultural contexts, having spent two years in Croatia leading marketing and development for a nonprofit focused on leadership development, as well as doing branding work in both Turkey and Bosnia. In the U.S., her previous experience includes branding work for Select Comfort and Black Angus Restaurants.

Julianna combines rich cultural expertise with modern technologies and tools to conduct online ethnography and social media tracking. She develops insight, strategy and metrics using state-of-the-art technology along with ancient principles of community building to spark and fuel brand communities. Her work tracking has contributed key consumer insights and trend analysis to planning for brands like Red Wing Shoes, Sallie Mae, Capital One, Thomson Reuters, Country Inns & Suites by Carlson, Target and General Mills.
