In this motivational hour, Kristin Bird will candidly share lessons learned throughout her career and explain how to utilize influence and diplomacy in times of change. She will disclose how she presents to groups in an effective, confident and persuasive manner as well as gathers data and concrete evidence to substantiate ideas and claims before entering negotiations. Kristin’s inspiring conversation will be hosted by Gretchen Sussman, VP Business Development and Industry Relations, Women’s Foodservice Forum.
At Sara Lee Corporation’s $1 billion Foodservice business, Bird provides leadership for long range planning and development of channel strategies, customer marketing, marketing activation, training, culinary and insights.
Bird has spent nearly fifteen years working in food service for Unilever PLC, ConAgra Foods Inc. and McCain Foods Ltd. before joining Sara Lee in 2008. In 2009 Bird was named a Crain’s Chicago Business 40 Under 40 winner. She has also been a past Chair of Women’s Foodservice Forum committees and an active volunteer.
A native of Canada, Bird received her undergraduate degree from Queen’s University and her MBA from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg School of Management.
