Event Wrap Up: Thousands across the Country and Canada Expand Their Network
Senior Women in Local Area Share Their Perspectives
By the end of November, the 2009 Regional Connect program focusing on the WFF core competency, Building Networks will come to a close. With 21 host cities and 24 events, the program experience has touched more than 2,700 members and guests. Many WFF members, volunteers, and staff supported the local events and they all deserve a resounding thank-you and sincere congratulations on the very professional execution of these local programs.
Special mention goes out to the:
The programs were rich in content, made more so through the skill-building workshop entitled “ Expand Your Circle of Influence”. Attendees were encouraged to complete the pre-event assignment by identifying people within their own network that filled the key network roles. Featured speakers shared personal reflections and stories about individuals from their networks that were influential in their career and personal development. Suggestions from the speakers included taking time at the beginning of the New Year to review your own network, identify gaps, map out who within your network will help you reach your goals and always be mindful of what role you fill in other people’s networks.

Event participants are encouraged to continue to build their personal network of people and remain cognizant of the value provided from all five roles within a strong network.
