Anne Varano is the senior vice president of Human Resources for Carlson Restaurants, where she is responsible for leading all human resource functions. As an executive leader, Varano serves on the Human Resources Leadership Council for Carlson and is also the executive director for Carlson Restaurant's internal charity Have a Heart. Under her leadership, the HR organization has been recognized with a People and Performance Award for Outstanding Recruiting, the Catalyst Award and the Best Human Resources Organization. Varano was also named the Best Human Resources Executive and received the Motivator of the Year award at the Elliot Leadership Conference. Varano sits on the advisory board of the People Report and was recently selected to the Board of Directors for the Women's Foodservice Forum. She previously was the co-president and president of the Chain Restaurant Compensation Association, holds a Senior Certification with the Society of Human Resource Management and is a Certified Compensation Professional with WorldatWork. Varano, who attended the University of Massachusetts, held various HR leadership positions with The Ground Round, Inc. and Howard Johnson Company.
